3rd day in beijing.

As you can see went to great wall today. pic above. one is of me and one of leanne, sorry i can't rotate the pic, hoever these pc's are in chinese and i can't read chinese.

Today weather wasn't so nice, but i had booked a day at the greatwall, went to a less populated area called mutianyu. was good actaully because leanne (canadan women) was on it as well which was nice, gave me some one to talk to and hang out with on the great wall.

Wow what can i say, really is impressive, i even manged to walk up to the highest point, which is 800 meters above the rest. i think it would of been a nice view, but it was so foggy, or pollution that unfortuanly i couldn't really see the wall in the distance or the surounding area. shame because it looked for picturesc. shame really maybe i will go back to the wall at some point further down just to see the landscape. we will see.

well i choose a tour thinking it the actualy guide would come up to the wall with us and tell us things. no no no. this is china don't forget, nothing it that easy. basically on the way, the guide told us we could get a cable car up to the top and back down, which isn't included in the pass, well most of us thought well ok, we won't need it. again no no no. It seems the only way you can get up there is by cable car. 50 yeun, which is about 3 pounds, so wasn't that bad, but again i feel conned.

anyway, we get to the wall, told we have to be back at the bus within 2hrs. which is enough i must admit, as there is no tourist where i went well just a hand full, which u can see from the pics, otherwise there would be loads of people in the pic, so i was quite chuffed about that.

What did annoy me was the guide stayed down the bottom, so it wasn't actually a guided tour as such, more of a way there and back.

Another thing that annoy a lot of people, was they do 3 trips, at the hostel they tell you that 2 of the trips you must go to certain shops, tea shopi medicen shop, and i didn't want to go to there so i choose one that didn't have any shops,

well that what we all thought.

Now on the way back we were told we would be stopping at a silk factrory for a tour. great i thought, anyway the actually tour wasn't bad. what was is the fact we spent only 2 hrs at the great wall, and the guide was making sure we came back on time, and even went running to find 2 people that didn't come back on time. Well while at the silk factory we were they an hour, fucking hour, and guess what guide didn't hurry the same 2 people that we were waiting for at the wall. we all thing she got commision for taking us there, as it was soo dodge otherwise.

well we were all pissed off, becuase 2 hours at the wall, which we were hurried for and an hour and at a silk factory which none of us expected,

To be to honest, that was all the happened on that trip and they way the chinese are, that didn't really bother me too much as that was the only thing. Oh well nevermind.

So finally got back to hostel, chilled out for a bit, meet up with ben who was going down the nght market again, this time to eat.

Now i had already eaten, but this time, felt adventures. Well im here is i may as well try some of the food.

So what did i try, sorry to say i did try dog. yes dog. and the vender proved it was dog by showing us the skull of the day. because some of then say dog but is actually beef.

sorry england and dog lovers, i am here for an adventure and what would it be without trying some thing.

Well dog, what can i say, tastes good, sorry to say. it tastes like lamb, but more tender.

Then i tried, snake. does taste like chicken. then tried eel, which was worriable. Don't try the eel. urgh.

didn't find any scorpians what i hope i do before i go.

After night market, went to a local hang out place where lots of bars and resturants are. dam they do try to really really gone you. at the hotel a 1ltr bottle fo bear costs 3yeun which is about 25pence. in the bar place they want to charge us 40yuen, which again is only about 3 pounds, but its princable. managed to find somewhere that would sell us for 15 yuen, about 90pence. thats ok. Hang out there for a bit with ben, meet 2 friends of his out here teaching english. not bad people, rather pleasant just sat there.

also smoked a peace pipe with strawberry flavoured tabacoo, and yes it was only tabacoo, again a new thing for me. rather smooth and tasting of strawberrys fo not bad.

again then just got back and chilled out. and that was it for the day.
